Latin American icon Ruben Blades burst onto the New York City salsa scene in the 1970s with his socially charged lyrics and explosive rhythms.

His hits Pedro Navaja and Plastico are loved by generations of Latin Americans worldwide, and we have seen him in the spotlight as a Grammy winner, actor, lawyer and Panama Presidential Candidate.

With unprecedented access,  Yo No Me Llamo Rubén Blades reveals a soft-spoken rebel, and a living legend struggling to come to terms with his legacy.

 Winner: 2018 SXSW Audience Award

The feature offers a privileged insight into Panama City, including its unique locations and sounds, and the omnipresence of music. Simultaneously, it explores what it’s like to be an emigré, while retaining a powerful link to one’s homeland - Variety.

Join us from 6:45pm for a drink on arrival and the sounds of Ruben Blades performed by Oscar Gonzalez and friends.
