Director Carlos Sorin (Historias Minimas, Dias de Pesca, El Gato Deseparece) explores what it means to belong in this small town drama set in Patagonia.
After waiting years to adopt a child, Cecilia and Diego are surprised by the sudden arrival of nine-year old Joel shortly after their move to a remote village in Patagonia. Joel is older than they had expected, and his difficult past and disruptive behaviour turns their quiet lives upside down. Joel’s presence forces the couple to reconsider their wishes and exposes the hypocrisy of small town attitudes, and brings into focus questions of belonging, being an outsider, and what it means to be a family.
